Sahil Mehta
(born August 6, 1997) is an Indian actor and producer from New Delhi, working across major Hindi theatrical cinema and premium global streaming. His performances are grounded, precise and emotionally exact, and he brings a growing international outlook to stories rooted in Indian life.
He first drew wide acclaim as Tegi in Ajitpal Singh's dark psychological thriller Tabbar (SonyLIV). He moved into mainstream cinema as Jigar opposite Janhvi Kapoor in Siddharth Sen's Good Luck Jerry. His work on the film impressed producer Aanand L. Rai, who cast him as Gaffar in Raksha Bandhan, alongside Akshay Kumar. His Tabbar performance had also caught the attention of Salman Khan, who launched him as the male lead, Aakash, in the cross-border thriller Farrey (Salman Khan Films), opposite Alizeh Agnihotri in her debut.
In 2025 he led two major long-form projects: Ram Madhvani's historical drama The Waking of a Nation, as Ali Allahbaksh, and Ruchir Arun's Loot Kaand for Amazon MX Player, as Arnab Mitra, opposite Tanya Maniktala. He then played the central character Goggi opposite Ajay Devgn in Son of Sardaar 2, the UK-shot, $18 million tentpole from Ajay Devgn Films, Jio Studios and Panorama Studios, now streaming on Netflix.
His craft began on the street with VAYAM, the theatre society of Shivaji College, University of Delhi, and was sharpened through a screen-acting workshop at FTII Pune. A biochemistry background gives him a scientist's curiosity about filmmaking itself: camera dynamics, lighting design and foley sound. Eight years of formal classical training in percussion, including the tabla, shape his rhythmic sense of timing on screen. A decade into his career, Sahil has moved into creative production. He appears in The Prediction, a psychological black comedy feature produced by Ghalib Datta, an executive producer on The Comeback Trail (starring Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones and Morgan Freeman).
His on-camera career began with his first commercial shoot in August 2016, followed by national and international campaigns for Google, Swiggy, OLX, UPI Chalega, Parle, Doublemint, Subway, Sony MAX, GMC Arabia, Quikr and Crax Fritts, and a first film-set appearance in Hindi Medium (2017). His short film Birha won Best Short Film at the New York Indian Film Festival 2023, and his festival work, including Gair (Pariah), has travelled to NYIFF, LAFA and Hollywood Shorts Fest.
